How Crafted by Neve Turns the Everyday Into Art

Art is everywhere you look.

I recently caught up with Neve, the Founder of Crafted by Neve, to discover how she turns the everyday into art!

When did your journey as an artist and baker begin?

I have always been creative and enjoyed painting on canvases, as well as baking, which I have done for over a decade.

It is only recently that I have started glass painting and creating custom pieces. I had started painting the pieces as gifts for family and friends, but I was encouraged (mostly by my partner!) to set up the business and share the products I was making!

What products/ bakes do you offer?

My most popular bakes are cupcakes that feature a range of custom flavours. I enjoy making brownies, blondies and cookies too!

How important is colour to your work?

Colour is a fundamental part in both my baking and painting. It brings my creations to life and add to their unique flair.

Delicate, creative and special!

How do you stay up to date with the latest baking and art trends?

Social media and connecting with like-minded creators is a good way to stay updated with artist trends. However, my art work is unique and based on custom orders.

What transferable skills do you use in both your artwork and baking?

Attention to the fine details, using a steady hand and artistic flair. The pieces and bakes are all unique every time. You must also trust the process!

How do you overcome creative blocks?

To overcome creative blocks, I take a step away from the piece and revisit it later to see what I could change. I also look at similar pieces I have done in the past and see how I can combine these.

Describe your creative process!

My creative process comes to me during the designing stages! I look at the shape of the pieces and fill in the bulk shapes before adding the fine attention to details.

I aim for every customer to feel special when they receive their hand-painted gift - it truly is something personal to them!

What advice would you give to any aspiring artists?

My advice to aspiring artist is just to go for it! Those close to you will support you, but you need to take the first leap! It’ll all work out!

What artistic skill would you like to learn/ develop next?

I want to develop the skills of working with larger scale pieces (especially with glass painting!).

How can we support the local artistic community?

The best way to support local artists is to shop locally! Lots of time and effort goes into creating custom pieces which people do not necessarily understand.

Do you have any goals for 2026?

My 2026 goal is to grow Crafted by Neve even more and to develop engagement nationally!
