Discovering The Launch of The BBF Nest

Whether you’ve visited one of their brilliant farmers markets or been for brunch with your best friends, Black Barn Farm truly is a celebration of everything local: food and drink, local flavours and the independent business community.

It can often be difficult for new and growing independent businesses to take their first steps in the world of business. Between designing and crafting their products, creating a brand identity and promoting via social media, it can feel as if there are not enough hours in the day!

And, in today’s economy, it can be a risk to leave a job and launch your own business, meaning some may ignore their dream for fear of instability.

However, Tom Arger and Curtis Daynes, Managers of Black Barn Farm Salhouse Marketplace, are on a mission to empower the community of local businesses by providing an abundance of incredible opportunities.

The latest of their initiatives is the launch of The BBF Nest. This opportunity offers new and fledging business owners free stall spaces they can utilise to grow their brand.

Not only will businesses be welcomed into a community of local business owners and entrepreneurs, providing invaluable advice and connections, but the free stall spaces offer an opportunity to display their services and products to new customers.

“We know how challenging it can be to get a new business off the ground, especially in today’s economic climate,” said Mr Tom Arger, Manager of BBF Salhouse Marketplace.

“The BBF Nest is designed to offer these businesses the best possible start. By providing free access to a prime marketplace location, we’re helping them focus on growing their brand and connecting with customers, without worrying about costly rent or fees.”

The BBF Nest is an exciting initiative that allows new businesses to turn their dream into a reality through the chance to grow their customer base and enter the local market. Space is limited for this opportunity and business owners can express their interest through emailing bbfsalhousemarketplace@gmail.com!

On 7 and 8 March, Macy’s Permanent Jewellery became the first business to call The Nest ‘home’ for the weekend.

Macy’s Permanent Jewellery crafts delicate pieces of jewellery that you can customise, allowing you to keep a symbol of a friendship, relationship or celebration close to you every day. Her sister brand, Macy’s Charm Bar, allows you to create a unique piece of jewellery that truly represents who you are. The opportunities are endless: gold or silver, colourful or delicate charms, a necklace or bracelet, coordination or a mix of charms – it’s up to you!

As an avid supporter of Macy and the local business community, I was excited to see the launch of The Nest and what opportunities it would bring.

I took a trip to Black Barn Farm to visit Macy (and, of course, treat myself to a breakfast out!) to discover how she found her experience at The Nest:

“My first pop-up at The Nest at Black Barn Farm was an incredibly positive experience, and I’m so grateful for the warm welcome and support I received.

“From the moment I arrived, everyone was so kind and generous with their advice, making the whole weekend feel both exciting and encouraging.

“I’m especially honoured to be the first small business — or “fledgling,” as I seem to have adopted the term while there — to have a pop-up in The Nest. It’s such a supportive and invaluable environment for small businesses, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to grow their brand and connect with a wider community.

“The setting itself is fantastic, attracting a great mix of visitors and loyal shoppers. The stall’s location is ideal too, perfectly positioned for passing footfall as well as those who come specifically to browse and shop.

“While it was wonderful to make some sales over the weekend, the real highlight was the exposure for my small brand and the opportunity to make so many meaningful connections with other businesses and individuals.

“I’m already looking forward to returning to Black Barn Farm again soon!”
